A Week of Exchange & Collaboration in Tallinn

We had an inspiring and productive week at our annual eHealth for Regions network partner meeting from February 10–12 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The eHealth for Regions network is the first transnational network dealing with eHealth in the Northern part of Europe. In 2007 the participants of the Baltic Sea Region Interreg-Project „eHealth for Regions“ decided to stay together in a network to secure project results and to communicate the opportunities of eHealth applications for the Health Care Systems in the Baltic Sea Region. They signed a network agreement and founded the eHealth for Regions Network. The network is run by the Institute for eHealth, Management and Healthcare (IeMVG) at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences.

This year’s partner meeting brought together colleagues from Finland, Estonia, Germany, and, as special guests, Sweden. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaborations, and shape the future of our network together.
Participating partners and guests included: Kadi Krinal, Beatrice Podtschaske, Sanna Inkeri, Sami Perälä, Nils Sandberg, Tomas Gustafsson and Rebecca Starke.

Some highlights from our week in Tallinn:

The first two days were kindly hosted at @TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology. We kicked off with opening remarks and a review of the past year by Beatrice Podtschaske (@Hochschule Flensburg), followed by discussions to define our goals for the year ahead – especially exciting as we approach our network’s 20th anniversary in the coming year.

Day two featured a highly engaging AI workshop led by Elli Valla, alongside a guided tour through Tallinn’s beautiful old town and a wonderful networking dinner.

On the third day, we focused on learning more about Estonia’s Digital Health initiatives, including a delegation visit to the Health and Welfare Information Systems Centre (TEHIK). A special thank you to Kerli Linna and Karin Rääsk for their insightful presentation.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Kadi Krinal for the excellent organization and for hosting us at TalTech, as well as for making the visit to TEHIK possible.

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead and to continuing our strong collaboration across countries!
